Every design I undertake is part of a larger cultural ecosystem. The ecosystem affects and influences the design and the design affects and influences the ecosystem. It is important to consider the ecosystem something resides in because you want your design to be true and authentic to its ecosystem. A farm is no different. It is part of a bigger picture and should respect and enhance it, not fight against it. A cultural ecosystem has 5 levels. Starting with the human group, or farm family. This is the individual they have needs, wants, desires, and have an identity that is unique to them. For example one family may be a loud and social family unit, and another a quiet and more introverted family. The next level a family is influenced by is the
